I will be speaking in Denver at the National Solo & Small Firm Conference sponsored by the American Bar Association’s General Practice, Solo & Small Firm Division. My program is Social Networking for Lawyers 201, which I am presenting together with Alan Klevan, a Wellesley, Mass., lawyer who is also principal of Law Practice Strategies. Our program is on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 11:30 a.m. The conference is being held at the Westin Denver Downtown.
In Connecticut, LadyDivorce and LadyDUI are the two halves of the dynamic marketing duo known as LadyLegalGroup. But the idea for the campaign came from a male lawyer and the websites are owned by his male-owned law firm. The marketing is clever, but could it lead some potential clients to believe they are doing business with a woman-owned firm? I have full details at my LawSites blog.
The ABA Law Practice Management Section is holding its fall meeting this week on beautiful Cape Cod. I am speaking Friday at 9:15 a.m. on the topic, “Web Site 201: Ditch the Tired (and Ineffective) Old Web Site.” Friday features a line-up of great speakers on smartphones for lawyers, Google for lawyers, avoiding malpractice and law firm finance.
On Thursday at noon, in conjunction with the fall meeting, the LPM Section’s eLawyering Task Force is presenting a free program, eLawyering and the Future of Legal Work. That program will be held at UMass School of Law in Dartmouth.
Online registration for the Cape Cod meeting is now closed but registration will be available onsite. The meeting is being held at the Wequassett Resort & Golf Club in Chatham.
